And we have JAYWALKERS! At last. Nevermind they're my 'Socktoberfest' socks. They're DONE! Complete with fancy-schmancy sock blockers courtesy Grandma D's Christmas Cash. Thanks Grandma!
Pattern: Jaywalker Socks by Grumperina
Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Color Tweed 004
Needles: US1 Brittany (5 dpns)
I really enjoyed this pattern. It wasn't as scary as I feared and was actually super easy to memorize. Mind you, it's just a two-row pattern. These are after all my first un-plain socks, and pair #4 in total (not counting many many many pair of Fuzzy Feet slippers). The cool double decrease stitch I know I will use again, I like the raised pattern and angle it creates. There's one row were I did a ssk instead of the double decrease, but I didn't back-track to fix it. The mistake makes the raised chain created vere off track but the next row picks up correctly. No biggie. I'm still not a fan of ribbing at the top of socks. It always stretches and rolls down on itself once I put 'em on my legs. I'm going to try doing the ribbed section with larger needles next time to see if this helps.

Additionally, will you just LOOK at the matching going on?! I'm so geeked. They MATCH. Oooooo.... Ahhhh... See what happens when one plans ahead before starting a project? I made myself divide the skein in half and then matched up the color stripe repeats so each sock would start on the same repeat. This is a totally-way-too-easy-to-not-do method, but believe me, when I have startitis, there's no talking any sense in to me. I even tried to convince myself that mis-matched socks are very vogue and wouldn't bother me in the least. But look! Amazing.

The LG Color Tweed was lovely to work with as well, but a little scratchy. It's still a bit coarse after a rinse and blocking, but when it was wet, it was so very soft. I have full faith that they will soften quite nicely.

The colorway is a treat, but oh my did it bleed in the rinse. Do you suppose a splash of vinegar would help? I'm pretty sure Color Tweed is superwash, but I may keep these in the handwash pile to keep the colors pretty.

That's all that is fit to print... I finished the yoke of Hourglass, but like many folks, I found the neckline too wide. I ripped back to the sleeve joins and I am nearly doubling the decreases. The rest of the sweater looks like it will fit just perfect, hurrah! Wicked? On Wicked, the gauge is good, but I selected the wrong size. I tried it on once the arms were separated, but it's just too bulky across the front. I haven't decided which of the two smaller sizes I'll try. I also haven't ripped out the original in case I change my mind.

Great Jaywalkers - and yay on the matching! Have you sent a picture to Grumperina so she can put them in the gallery?
They look great! Believe it or not, I'm even further behind... I haven't even cast on for mine yet!
Love the colorway on the Jaywalkers! They look great!
The Jaywalkers look great! I love that yarn too. :)

Those turn out so freaking awesome!!! I luuurrve the colorway!
BTW, I am on old blogger too....the new one sucks IMHO.
Love the jay walkers, great colors!
Ooh they're gorgeous! I'm about
1/3 done with my second one and I'm liking the pattern as much as you were. Mine don't match nearly as well as yours though...
The only thing I really like about new blogger is the ability to tag posts with keywords so you can sort back through. I resisted switching for awhile but when I found that out I took the plunge.
Ha ha, you're more up with the trends than me. They look fantastic and the matching is perfect.
Good for you - my March sock project will be Jaywalkers. And from comments I have heard about problems with new blogger...I don't mind not being able to switch myself!
I just cast-on for Jaywalkers myself, so maybe we're not so last-year but retro!
Saw these on the sock it to em KAL and had to get the details. VERY nice and you did a fab job matching them!
